Our Arrival in Bartlesville
We arrived in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in August 2007 to begin a new life in America. We knew nothing of the City or the area but were open to adventure. The company initially provided a lovely little 'Duplex' (semi-detached) for us to use until we selected our own accommodation (the Toyota is a rental)
the house was on a small street called 'Willow Park Drive' and yes, my neighbour had a flag and a red pick up truck.........
We were greeted on entry by a welcome basket with (among other things) a DVD entitled 'It's Time for Living in Bartlesville, Oklahoma'
we wasted little time in getting ourselves to Walmart and filling the cupboards with all kinds of wonderful things
the place was quiet, comfortable and had TV, Telephone, Internet etc sorted out by our Realtor (Tammie) before we arrived so we had no worries about setting anything up. If you find yourself looking for accommodation/relocation in Bartlesville Oklahoma, try Tammie she is excellent at her job and goes above and beyond her role to ensure you are fully settled, we really liked her and she was a massive help to us in the first few weeks.
The bedrooms were well equipped with solid wood furniture and had large en-suite bathrooms
at the rear of the property we had a nice little garden area should we fancy a bar-b-que; we certainly had the weather for it. One of the best things about Oklahoma was the constant beautiful sunshine year round. Even though there were seasons as we would recognise at home, all of them involved predominantly sunny days.
we settled in and got our own transport within a few days of arrival
So, here we were, 21st August 2007 having given up everything we owned, left our friends and family thousands of miles away and ready to start out on a new road, exciting just doesn't capture it somehow.
