Another day another parade, this time it's our own Cochrane 'Labour Day' Parade which is always great. Sarah and I made our way downtown and picked out a nice spot at 10am ready for the 10:30 start. This year there was quite a lot of fun before the parade started so I made a gallery of pre-parade shots to begin with. The main image is one of my favourites as this little girl made up her own dance to the music provided for the line dancers which were entertaining the crowd prior to the event.
As for images of the main event, I left out most of the vehicles that join the parade and stuck with the people and horses this year. It was a great turn out from the crowd and from the participants, we're already thinking about next year....
The Labour Day Parade is a long standing tradition in both Canada and the US, it is held on the first Monday of September each year and provides a great long weekend close to the summer. Today Sarah and I went down into our local town of Cochrane to watch the festivities. Below shows a selection of shots from the day or you can click here for the full eclectic gallery and more detail about Labour Day itself.
