Stonehaven Harbour Festival
The harbour festival at Stonehaven is held annually to raise funds for the RNLI Lifeboat stationed there, there are always plenty of things to do and see including small parades to open the event.
Johnny Depp......in Stonehaven, Pirates of the ...er....North Sea, not quite the same somehow.
There is a great welcome from the RNLI guys and a brilliant display including emergency launch and (literally) turning a large rescue boat upside down in the harbour.
There are stalls all the way around the harbour walls with food, drinks, arts, crafts and displays
This guy does a brilliant display of barrel making and explains it all as he goes along including the history of the trade.
There is a display of Scottish Country Dancing by a local primary school group that is well supported by the crowds
The band is a little 'Rustic' and the little roadie does not look pleased with the performance, it was actually really good.
Two future 'Underwater Search and Rescue' members here I think.
There's even mountain climbing down in the harbour for the more adventurous
A great little event for a great cause, its good to see other still coming in as we leave.
Though we opted to walk there was also the possibility of a 'train' ride home (even more people heading to the harbour)
