Got Sarah out and about in the hills today....a rare occurrence indeed so elected a gentle hill on good firm tracks around Glen Taner. Starting as usual from the car park at the Bridge of Taner
It was a beautiful day with clear blue skies and fluffy white clouds as we crossed the glen
The small Chapel of St Lesmo was bathed in sunlight as we passed
Sarah strikes a pose at the Knockie viewpoint as we head up toward our target
A couple of MTB's fly past with a cheery hello as we passed through a small wooded area
In no time we were at the fork in the track where we turned left toward Baudy Meg
As we climbed up the track the views improved as we went
Glimpses through the trees gave the ideal excuse to pause a moment and take in the view
We had not even reached the summit and true to form Sarah insists on a snack break beside the track
As we reach the top of the climb the area flattens out to a broad path through the heather
A little further and 'Morven' comes into view away on the horizon
From the saddle it is just possible to see the top of Lochnagar so far away behind us
Clouds started to thicken as we turned toward the descent
In a very short time the sky was covered in a blanket of low cloud threatening showers
As we pressed on to the bottom of the hill the rain was holding off
On reaching the 'water of taner' we turned left along the riverside trail
As we neared the visitor centre and toilets a few spots of rain began to fall
But we had made it, the visitor centre is at the bridge of taner where we started and we got into the car as the first shower hit, with that kind of luck I might get Sarah to come out with me more often, another lovely wander with my best friend and better half
