Just a short autumnal afternoon in the sunshine of the Elbow Valley. We enjoyed a short hike and a picnic by the river in a beautiful location close to home. Click here for full write up and photos
This wee wonder of a hike sits along Highwood Pass and has been out of reach all year due to 'post flood' road closures, with some significant effort from Alberta Parks and Rec a short section of the road has been reopened and I seized the opportunity to get down there before the normal planned winter closures, I'm so glad I did. A short visit to the UK to see a new addition to the family and an opportunity to have a lovely day out with Mark, Hayley and Ethan at a local country estate where ducks, conkers and tree climbing provided a fine adventure for Ethan (and maybe his dad and grandad too) Click here for full story and more photos.
Not some sort of weird riding event as the title may suggest , but the name of a mountain close to Spray Lakes Reservoir which I hiked yesterday. The Pigs Back is an incredibly photogenic location and the beautiful autumnal colours really made it worthwhile. Without them it would have been a dour affair with constant snow showers throughout the day, all in all it was well worth the effort. Click here for full story and pics.
