If you've seen the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" this tower will look familiar to you, but it shouldn't make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck unless you start carving replicas of it out of mash potato.
Rising from the north-east corner of Wyoming it is an impressive site, sacred to many of the native tribes and a climbing mecca for free climbers. For me it was a 2 km walk in a beautiful location with views across the plains and of course of the tower. To see more shots and read a little about the tower click here.
