Calgary Tower
We spent a day in town so Mark, Hayley and Ethan could visit the Calgary Tower and have a look around the down town area wich is the older established part of the city that has real character
Ethan loved being out and about in the city and constantly pointed out all of the things he found interesting while telling us all about it almost none stop
we took a little trip on the train (Ethans first) just in the down town area where it is easy as there is no fare down town you just hop on and hop off anywhere you want free....he loved it
it was another beautiful day and we wandered around the city taking in the views and grabbing the occasional coffee
we waited until lunch time to head to the tower so we could go up and eat in the rotating restaurant at the top
but before we had lunch we went to the observation deck where a glass floor allows you to experience the city in a truly unique way..........as long as you have the stomach for it
Sarah managed to stand on there.....just for a very short time and looked genuinely scared throughout which made us laugh
it was great that we had the place to ourselves and Ethan made good use of that by exploring the entire circle of the deck with dad in hot pursuit after he had worn out his poor mum doing laps earlier
he even did laps of the windowsill to make sure he didn't miss anything
Mark tried out the hurricane simulator which seemed to be more of a cool breeze on a hot day (despite Marks attempts to make it appear more dramatic)
we moved on to the rotating restaurant where a 60 minute rotation allows you to see the whole of the city whilst having a lovely lunch, high chairs, crayons and kiddies menu were dispensed immediately on arrival as Ethan prepares himself for 'Sauceageddon'
it didn't take long for him to demolish his dinner, eating some....wearing most and telling us all about how much he enjoyed it
below are a number of shots taken as the restaurant rotated during lunch, what a great way to see the city.
after lunch we headed back into the down town area again and enjoyed the sunshine a little longer
until eventually we were dragged into the 'Core' (downtown shopping area) by Sarah, we spend a few hours there before heading home and playing footie in the garden
