Winter 2009/10
We experienced our first Scottish winter whilst living on the coast in Stonehaven, which took the sting out of the weather to some extent. When the roads were passable I took a drive around on a few occasions looking to get some photos of the picture postcard scenes.
These first three are just a few miles out of Stonehaven in an area I walked frequently (click image for larger)

This batch were taken on the route to Clachnaben through the forest of Dye, turned out to be a very difficult ascent (snow depth on the hill made it hard) eventually I reached the very cold summit
I love this shot of the AA box bringing colour to an otherwise black and white scene
this one should be on a postcard from Scotland I think
Down by the river at Potarch bridge the colour of the water gives away the temperature
and down at the Falls of Feugh, the salmon have stopped jumping
