Woolaroc
Set out in the Osage hills to the South -West of Bartlesville is the previous ranch home of Frank Phillips (founder of Phillips petroleum) it is now a 3700 acre wildlife preserve and museum. Being only 10 miles from Bartlesville it is another one of those places that everyone had to go when they visited us.
The 'mountain man camp was a particularly good addition the remained there throughout the summer months showing how people lived in that manner.
the museum has some unusual doors, but a hell of a collection of American Indian artefacts and one of the largest collections of colt handguns in the world.
The park is also home to a number of critters from zebra's, emu's and goats to water buffalo
we were lucky to have this little gem on the doorstep and visited often, sometimes just for the cafe, Bartlesville....full of surprises.
