Wyoming
We stayed in Cody, Wyoming for 2 weeks over late June early July 2008. The reason for staying there was a visit to Yellowstone National Park, we stayed in Cody so we could explore the area a little. Our approach under darkened skies was typical of our road trips across America, wide open spaces and no vehicles around.
On the evening of my birthday we took a drive out into the mountains to find a nice place to eat and to see a little scenery, this shot was captured on a twisting pass through the mountains.
As the sun went down we saw this meadow in a mountain pass illuminated by the last of the light and made this beautiful photo and a couple of others before it got away.
Wyoming certainly has some beautiful landscapes of all kinds, much more than Yellowstone alone, this Alpine meadow by the roadside had us stopping for a while to explore the area.
just behind the small hill adjacent was this stunning patch of colour spread across the hillside
We also came across a large patch of boulders flattened and stacked on top of each other close to the roadside
Wyoming is a wonderful state with much more to offer than just Yellowstone National Park, I suspect we'll get back here from Canada on occasion.
