I set out to hike the Plain of Six glaciers yesterday but when I arrived at Lake Louise the trail was closed due to avalanche risk, I found another one to do instead - Lake Agnes and the Little Beehive. Click here for the full hike and photos
My friend David has been chomping at the bit to get out and play golf for some time now, so with the snow and cold weather gone (from the city at least) he booked us into Shaganappie Golf Course for a 9 hole warm up on Friday. We had a lash on the range first as the sun shone down and then played the 9 hole course with an Irish guy called Brian who we met on the first tee....so off we went - a Brit, an Aussie and an Irishman....like the start of a bad joke. We had a great day, then David and his family joined Sarah and I for dinner in a restaurant down the road and a couple of beers back home after that....what a lovely way to spend a day. Below is a phone pic of the driving range with the downtown skyscrapers in the distance.
Tried to make an incredible peak yesterday, did get to within 500 feet but the steep slope and heavy snowfall beat me back down, good experience though and I'll get back to that beauty when the snow yields. click here for full story and pics
We've only been here a few months and she's at it already, parking fine last month, speeding fine this month(102 kph in an 80 kph zone) currently Sarah is -$150 courtesy of Calgary Police Benevolent Fund.
Another hike in the glorious foothills, often overlooked because of their far more impressive neighbours I really enjoy them and will be coming back to this hike again. Click here for full description and pics.
Watching football today when I noticed this beautiful storm drifting by, I guess spring is now officially here
