I had a 'photography practice' day with Cecil at Calgary zoo today and though some substantial portions of the zoo are closed for maintenance and/or restoration, it was still a great day wandering around the grounds. The owls were well positioned and enjoying fresh white mice for lunch and the flamingos were their usual photogenic selves. We had a nice lunch in the cafe and sat talking over coffee later on, all in all a really enjoyable day in good company, I'm sure we'll soon be wandering the mountains again in search of our usual landscapes.
We rarely need an excuse to go to the zoo, so with the sun beating down today and temperatures rising well into double digits we spent a wonderful day with the family exploring Calgary zoo. We've been many times now but still enjoy every visit. The gallery below is just a small collection of shots from another fantastic day chasing Ethan in the spring sunshine.
